Her left outstretched hand gives the blessing and refuge to all those who show pure devotion to her. Her right hand in the gesture of supreme enlightenment holds the stem of the Utpala flower representing her knowledge of the three times – past, present and future. The open flower shows the past, the closed the future and the just-opening bud the present.
