Manjushri (White)

WHITE MANJUSHRI (Tib. Jamyang Karpo)

Manjushri is the embodiment of the wisdom of all the Buddhas realising the ultimate nature of reality. His left hand holds the stem of a lotus flower, which supports the “Perfection of Wisdom Sutra”, an important Mahayana text containing the knowledge of conventional and ultimate truth. His right holds another lotus flower on which stands the flaming sword of wisdom symbolising the power of wisdom to cut through ignorance, the root of all our suffering.
